semper fi!

Happy Birthday, Marine!
Today is the US Marine Corp's 233rd Birthday! US Marines all over the world will either attend their unit's ceremonies and balls, but if they're deployed, they will eat some sort of cake at a minimum to celebrate this day.

At any given ceremony or ball, the following events will occur:
・Reading or video of General Conway's (current 34th Commandant) Birthday message. (PDF document or Video message)
・Reading of General Lejeune's (13th Commandant) Birthday message. (PDF document)
・Cake cutting ceremony

To show the passing of the Marine Corps tradition from one generation to the next, the oldest Marine present will eat a piece of the cake first, and the youngest Marine present will eat the next piece. Those deployed or in the middle of an training exercise will eat whatever cake they have on hand, such as the field mess cakes or MRE poundcakes.

Happy Birthday, Marine! Oorah! (^o^)/
