「キャンパス・アバローニ」ウェブコミックス、ついに開設！

A3スキャナーを手に入れてから、私のウェブコミックス計画がやっと加速し、あっという間にオンライン化が可能になりました。(^o^)b

「キャンパス・アバローニ」と言うのは、私の大学新聞のために描いた４コマ漫画です。設定は架空のアバローニ大学。主人公は大学キャンパスを自転車で巡察するドジな警官たち。ジャンルは、大学生活の何から何までバカにしたギャグマンガです。(^^;

９０年代後半は、日本のアニメや漫画がアメリカで人気になりかけた頃ですが、知名度は現在のほどではなかった時期だったんで、私のマンガは受けが良くなかったと思う。ていうか、キャラは英語のセリフを言うものの、絵とギャグセンスは日本的だったので、私は精神的に病んでいたと思われたかも。私の数少ないファンは、大学の友人やアニメサークルのオタクたちぐらいでした。(T_T)

オリジナルは英語ですが、設定に慣れる次第、日本語バージョンもアップする予定ですので、しばしお待ちください。

"Campus Abalone" webcomic finally online!

Ever since I acquired the A3 size scanner, my webcomics project took off to the skies, and I was able to get some stuff online already. (^o^)b

"Campus Abalone" is a 4-panel comic strip that I drew for my college newspaper. It takes place in University of Abalone, a fictional campus. The main characters are bumbling campus bike cops. Genre-wise, it's a 4-koma gag manga that makes fun of anything and everything in college life. (^^;

In the late 90s, Japanese anime and manga just started becoming popular in the States, but definitely not as popular as it is these days, so I don't think my manga was understood by many folks back then. I mean, though the characters spoke English, the art and gag sense was completely Japanese, so I must've come across as a whacko or something. My college buddies and anime club members were my few and only fans. (T_T)

The original is in English, but once I get used to the settings, I plan on uploading the Japanese translations, so please hang on, Japanese readers.
