デカイよ、フルーツコウモリ。

夕方、車を運転してたら、空に無数のデカくて黒い物体が飛び回って、びっくり。あ、そうか、沖縄に生息するフルーツコウモリ（又はオオコウモリ）だ！(*_*)

どの道を走っても、左右の並木からコウモリたちがどんどん出てくるよ！久しぶりに見るけど、やっぱデカイよ。１メートル以上の翼幅のあるモノもしばしば。まー、果実しか食べないし、あまり人に近寄らないんで、東京の悪質なカラスより全然マシですが。それに目も大きいし、顔もキツネっぽくて、カワイイかも。(^_^)

でも家に着くまで、コウモリを見かけるたびに「おぉ、でけぇ！」の連発。しょうがないですけど。(^^;

Megabats.
When I was driving my car as the sun went down, I saw large black objects flying across the sky, scaring the bejeezus out of me. Oh wait, those things were actually Okinawan fruit bats (or flying foxes/megabats)! (*_*)

No matter which way I drove, a bunch of bats flew out of trees along the road! It's been a while since I saw those suckers, but man, they're huge. Some of their wingspans were over a yard. But since they only eat fruits and don't like getting near humans, they're way better than the evil crows/ravens in Tokyo. Besides, they have big, round eyes and a fox-like face, so they're actually pretty adorable. (^_^)

But until I got back home I kept saying, "Man, they're huge!" for every flying bat I saw. Can you blame me? (^^;
