MCMAP（マクマップ）パート１

MCMAP（マクマップ）は、Marine Corps Martial Arts Program（海兵隊格闘技プログラム）の略です。たしかヒストリーチャンネルの「ヒューマンウェポン」というシリーズに、「ミックマップ」と言ってましたが、私が軍事通訳をしていた頃は多少いいやすい「マクマップ」と発音してました。ま、あくまでも個人的な好みなので…どっち使っても良いと思います。(^-^)

下のYouTube動画は、数年前、沖縄市で開催された「国際女流武芸際」というイベントに我々海兵隊が招待され、ちょこっとMCMAPのデモンストレーションをさせて頂きました。本日の動画は、自衛隊からもらった木銃を使った先輩らの銃剣バージョンの居合いです。やっている最中、先輩らの目つきが怖いのなんの！気迫たっぷりでとってもグ〜です！！(>_<)b

MCMAP Part 1
MCMAP is the acronym for "Marine Corps Martial Arts Program." I believe the History Channel TV show called "Human Weapon" pronounced the acronym as "Mic-map" in Japanese, but when I was the military interpreter, I used "Muc-map" which was a bit easier to say. Of course, it's just my personal preference... either pronunciation is fine.(^-^)

The YouTube clip above is a little MCMAP demonstration at the "International Women's Martial Arts Festival" held in Okinawa City a few years ago. Today's clip shows two of my sempais using JSDF wooden rifles in the bayonet version of"iaido" (or "battoujutsu") demonstration. During the demo, they had such killer eyes! The intensity was really awesome and goood!!(>_<)b
