苦渋の決断。

マンガ・ラノベ翻訳を始めて早3年。最初は楽しかったが、時間が経つにつれ、苦しくなってきたんです。当初は単身赴任で時間が多く持て余していたが、去年から夫の仕事の都合でまた一緒に暮らせるようになったり、子犬を飼ったりと、私生活や日勤状況が徐々に忙しくなったせいで、翻訳する時間が激減し、最終的に睡眠時間をかなり削らなければ締め切りに間に合わないハメに。去年は一時期過労で倒れたこともある…別に重病ではないけど、心身ともに疲れた感じです。(T_T)

なので、今年に入って苦渋の決断をした。マンガ・ラノベ翻訳の依頼を少しずつ断ることに。人を助けることが好きなだけに、断るのはとても心苦しいです。「ノー」と言えない外人とでも言ってください…(^^;

年末までに体調を整え、来年から調子がよければ翻訳に戻るか、自分のマンガを描くかじっくり考えます…とりあえず、ひとまず心と体を休めて、リフレッシュした後にマンガ業界に復帰したいと思います。といっても、それまでは無理しない程度の翻訳支援（例えば英語監修や短期間の翻訳など）をするつもりなので、完全に姿を消すのではありません。

えっと、こんな変な外人ですが、これからもよろしくお願いします。(>_<)
Agonizing decision.
It's already been 3 years since I started translating manga and light novels. It was really fun in the beginning, but as time passed, it became quite a struggle. At first, I was a geographical bachelorette with a lot of time on my hands, but when my husband's job situation changed, we were able to live together again, and we bought a little puppy, so my day job and personal life took up more of my time, leaving even less time to translate, eventually causing me to reduce my sleep hours just to meet deadlines. Last year, I actually broke down from exhaustion... it wasn't due to any major diseases, but I was drained, both physically and mentally. (T_T)

As a result, I finally came to an agonizing decision. I began to decline manga/light novel translation requests, one at a time. As a person who likes to help people in need, it was really tough for me to turn down requests. You can call me "a gaijin who can't say no" or something... (^^;

I plan on recuperating my body by the end of the year, and starting next year, I hope to return fully to translations, or start up my own manga... regardless, I just need to rest my mind and body for a bit, recharge myself, and hopefully return to the world of manga. Of course, in the meantime, I'll continue to provide translation support (such as English supervision and short term translation gigs) without straining myself, so I won't completely disappear.

Umm, I truly hope that you'll continue to support a weird gaijin like me. (>_<)
