先日、ヒストリーチャンネルの「ヒューマンウェポン」シーズン１DVDを購入しました。海兵隊マクマップのエピソードでは、懐かしい顔が何人もいました。(^_^)

特にフランクリン最先任上級曹長。上級曹長がマクマップを開発してた頃、大変お世話になりました。私は当時、日本の格闘技・武道の資料の翻訳をしたり、一緒に道場を訪問して通訳したり、体力ではなく、頭脳で支援させて頂きました。まー、たまには先輩らが新しい技を私に試したというか、人間サンドバッグのような役割も…(^^;

DVDを観てわかったんですが、あの頃、マクマップの内容が目の前で少しずつ形になっていったなんて、スゲーことだったんですね。(*_*)

Human Weapon: Complete Season 1/ [DVD] [Import]

The other day, I purchased the History Channel's "Human Weapon" Season 1 DVD box set. In the USMC MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program) episode, I saw several familiar faces. (^_^)

The most familiar was Master Gunnery Sergeant Franklin. When Master Guns was developing the MCMAP, he took care of me. Back then, I assisted not with muscle power but with brain power, translating Japanese martial arts documents and interpreting at local dojos. Well, of course, sometimes some of my sempais practiced some new moves on me, like a human sandbag... (^^;

After watching the DVD, it made me realize that back then, the MCMAP was taking shape and evolving right before my eyes -- a pretty epic moment in history. (*_*)
