高校の先輩がアニメ化?!

知らなかった〜、私の高校の1年先輩の人生がアニメ化されてたなんて。(*_*)

2007年からじっくり作り上げた「マッカニージョーは日本人(Joe is Japanese)」の予告はなかなか良くできてるし、二つの文化の狭間にいる在日ハーフの気持ちや体験をバッチリ捉えてます。私もミドルネーム「島袋」を言うまでは、全く同じ対応をされたりして… (^^;

しかしアメリカ人やハーフが日本語を上手く喋る時、日本人だと勘違いする邦人も多ければ、我々のスムーズな英語の発音に「英語上手ですね」って褒められるのもどうかと思う… (^^;

(たしか、私の日本人の同僚が軍事通訳でスラスラと日本語喋ってたら「日本語上手いですね」と自衛官に褒められたこともありました。ガチでスゲー勘違いだよね、まったく。)

北京オリンピックで同級生は金メダルとるわ、先輩がアニメ化されるわで・・・私の高校って、そんなにスゴかったっけ?(^^;

My high school sempai became an anime?!
I did not know for the longest time... that my high school sempai, one year above me, was made into an anime. (*_*)

The anime trailer of "Joe is Japanese", carefully crafted from 2007, is well-made and captures the feelings and experiences of half-Japanese foreigners in Japan. In fact, I'd usually get the same treatment until I finally mention my Japanese middle name "Shimabuku"... (^^;

There are a lot of Japanese folks who mistakingly assume that Americans and halfs who speak Japanese fluently are full Japanese, and it kills me when they compliment our native English pronunciations by saying, "You speak good English... (^^;

(I remember a Japanese co-worker who spoke smooth Japanese when doing military interpretations getting compliments from the JSDF personnel for "speaking good Japanese." Hello, he's Japanese like y'all.)

...So my classmate won a gold medal in the Beijing Olympics, and my sempai's life turns into an anime... my high school can't be that great, can it? (^^;
