CSI第7シーズンDVDボックスセット１到着！

待ってました、CSI第7シーズンDVD！英語バージョンをリアルタイムで見れば楽なんですけど、やっぱり字幕が気になるんで、日本語版が出るまでけっこう我慢します。(>_<)

毎度ですけど、字幕を翻訳する方、お疲れ様です。よくあそこまで端折られて俗語だらけのスクリプトを淡々と訳できるなぁと関心します。吹き替えの場合は、ある程度声優さんたちの声で訳に息を吹き込まれてけっこう面白いんですが、サブタイトルはたった2〜3行の狭い文字数だけで勝負です。それを日本人に分かりやすく、かつ簡潔にまとめる。スゲーです。(^_^)b

作品で気になる点が一つあります。ロングランのドラマシリーズでは、女性キャラの方が毎シーズン髪型を変えるのが主流ですが、CSIでは女性のキャサリンやサラはほとんど髪形変えないけど、男性のニックは髪型を頻繁に変えるし、グリッソム主任はヒゲを生やしたり剃ったり…ちょっと意外な感じです。(^^;

The CSI Season 7 DVDs finally arrived! It's probably easier to watch the original English version real time, but I'm really curious about the subtitle translations, so I tend to wait patiently for the Japanese version to come out. (>_<)

I always admire the translators who put in a lot of work in subtitles. It's probably really tough to sludge through the script full of slang and fragmented conversations. With voiceovers, the voice actors breathing life and enhance the translated scripts, but with subtitles, it's straight up text, crammed into 2-3 lines of limited word counts. The Japanese translators somehow package it into a succint script, and make it easy to understand for the Japanese audience. Good stuff. (^_^)b

There is something I noticed about the series, though. In long-running series, the female characters tend to change hairstyles each season, but in CSI, Catherine and Sara hardly ever change their hairstyle, but Nick changes his a lot, and Grissom has a beard or not... how unusual. (^^;
