まじっく快斗の4巻が去年出てたの？！

今週、書店のマンガコーナーで、まじっく快斗第4巻を見かけ、条件反射で購入しました。(^_^)発行は2007年2月頃…と言うことは、私は1年以上もこの最新刊のことを知らなかったんだ、情けない。でもちゃんと理由があるんですよ！だって、第3巻が出たのは13年前（1994年10月）なんだもん！「ガラスの仮面」の次に不定期な単行本発行だもん！（＞_＜）

まー、何はともあれ、私は青山剛昌先生の絵が好きです！「YAIBA」よりも、「名探偵コナン」よりも、この「まじっく快斗」が好きなんです。強いて言えば、この３つの作品のうち、一番古い連載は1988年に始まった「まじっく快斗」なんですよ〜だ。

特に好きな理由は以下のとおりです：

• 物理的にありえないトランプ拳銃を持ってるから（でも欲しい！！）
• 怪盗キッドは超カッコいい（ちょっぴりドジなところもまた良い）
• 衣装もキマってるけど、モノクルが最高（ドラゴンボールのスカウターよりグ〜）
• 中森青子は鈍感過ぎるけど、とてもかわいい（彼女の普通さが良い）
• ルパン3世、金田一少年の事件簿、キャッツアイなどの事件・刑事対泥棒モノの懐かしい雰囲気が漂う（パロディ？）

まじっく快斗 4 (少年サンデーコミックス)

Magic Kaito volume 4 was out last year?!
This week, in the manga section of the bookstore, I came across "Magic Kaito" volume 4, so I automatically bought it.(^_^) It was published back in February 2007... which meant that I didn't know about this "new" volume for over a year, doh. But I have a very legitimate reason for not noticing it! I mean, volume 3 was out over 13 years ago (October 1994)! This series is second to "Glass Mask (Garasu no Kamen)" in terms of unpredictable, infrequent tankobon releases!（＞_＜）
Well, anyway, I really love Aoyama Goushou sensei's art! I love "Magic Kaito" way more than "YAIBA" and "Detective Conan." In case you didn't know, "Magic Kaito" started in 1988, and was the oldest series out of the three, so there.

Below are some of the major reasons why I like this title:

• A "playing card pistol" that defies all physics (but man, do I want one!!)
• Kaito Kid is super cool (his slight clumsiness adds to his charm)
• The outfit is tight, but the monocle rocks (way better than Dragon Ball's "scouter" device)
• Nakamori Aoko is a little too dense, but very cute (her normal-ness is her best feature)
• It reaks of nostalgic "detective vs. thief" and "mystery case" genres, like Lupin III, Kindaichi Case Files, and Cat's Eye (a parody, I suppose?)
