米軍初の女性大将任命！！

５月２３日に、米国大統領は、アン・ダンウディ中将（５５）を米軍初の女性大将に昇格しました！同時に陸軍装備軍の初の女性司令官に任命されました！ご存知のとおり、米軍の女性兵士は、戦闘職種につけませんが、今回の装備軍のような後方支援系の仕事につくことができます。ダンウディ将軍は、現代の女性兵士が目指せられる最上位の階級と（平時では４つ星・大将）、戦闘司令部ではない最大の米軍司令部のポストにつくことができました。

スゲー！米軍の（元）女性兵士としてすごく嬉しい！これからも頑張ってください、マアム！ く(^_^)

US Military's first female 4-star general!!
On May 23, 2008, the US president nominated Lieutenant General Ann E. Dunwoody to become the first female 4-star General! At the same time, she was also nominated to become the first femal commanding general of the Army Material Command! As you may know, in the US military, female military personnel are not allowed to work in combat arms, but can work in rear support related jobs, such as the Army Material Command. General Dunwoody was able to attain the highest rank possible (4-star General during peace time), and also command the biggest non-combat command as a female.

Awesome! As a (former) US female military personnel, I'm totally overjoyed! Good luck, ma'am! く(^_^)
