むかーし、むかし（90年代後半）、あるところに（アメリカ）、A-kon 9というアニメコンベンションに参加した翻訳者がおったそうじゃ。

当時の彼女は大学生で、主役じゃないアニメやゲームキャラのコスプレに凝ってたそうじゃ。普通にアニメの主役をコスプレすれば他の参加者に理解されたのに、彼女はなぜか「うしろで絶叫している少女Ａの隣に黙って立ってる少女Ｂ」とか、「メタルスラッグＸのメインキャラ、フィオとエリじゃなく、巨大なリュックを背負って時折プレーヤーにアイテムを提供するナイスギャルの相川留美」とか、誰も知らないかなりマニアなコスプレをしてたそうじゃ。

そんな意味不明でかなりマニアな娘は、A-kon 9で「うる星やつらのしのぶ」を演じるため、ステージでイスを三つ持ち上げて暴れまくったそうじゃ。なんて恥知らずな子だ…

Long, long ago (late 90s), in a place far away (the States), there was a translator who attended an anime convention called A-kon 9.

Back then, she was a college student who was really into cosplaying obscure anime and game sub-characters. She could've cosplayed regular characters recognized by con participants, but instead, she insisted on cosplaying unrecognizable minor characters such as "Shojo B, who is standing next to the screaming Shojo A in the background" and "not Metal Slug X's main characters, Fio and Eri, but rather, Rumi Aikawa, the nice gal who carries a large ruck and sometimes leave items for players."

This questionably geeky girl, cosplaying "Shinobu from Urusei Yatsura (Lum)" at A-kon 9, carried three chairs over her head and ran around the stage like an idiot. What a shameless girl...
